Stranger Things Pitch Deck
Stranger Things was a breakout success for streaming service Netflix. Stranger things was pitched as a series where 1980's movie blockbusters ET meets Poltergeist meets Stand by Me. Along with Netflix original House of Cards, Stranger Things was credited with pushing Netflix and streaming in general into the mainstream.

The rules of one-sentence elevator pitching
The basic rules for creating our own one sentence pitches are:
Frame your pitch around something your audience already understands.
Introduce something surprising that makes it new and attractive.
Make sure you take them somewhere they’ll want to go.
In 2007, Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs introduces the original iPhone. Steve announced that Apple was launching three new products, then described them, "An iPod, a phone and an internet communicator… an iPod, a phone and an internet communicator… are you getting it yet?"
At the time the phone industry was dominated by Nokia and Motorolla. Smart-phones and personal communication devices was a new segment controlled by Blackberry and Palm. Industry analysts were predicting that Apple had little prospect of creating and marketing a credible mobile device and succeeding in the highly competitive mobile phone industry.

Basic elevator pitch template #1
When I first started [your trade], I found a common issue: People needed [solution].
For [time period], I’ve been [specializing/providing] just that. [State how]. I also [additional differentiator/advantage].
With this [three adjectives to sum up the above], my customers not only [benefit #1], but they also [benefit #2].
Automotive example using this template
When I began automotive repair, I found a common issue: People needed a choice for transmission repair on late model vehicles other than the dealer.
For three years now, I’ve been specializing in just that: catering to the unique transmission needs of vehicles 10 years or older. I’m also the only shop that provides online guidance first, to help my clients establish a firm price on the transmission replacement first, before their vehicle even comes into my shop.
With this confidence, convenience, and unique specialization, customers not only get more mileage out of their vehicles but also don’t have to cringe when viewing the invoice.

Real estate example using this template

For many people with chronic dental issues, it’s not the issues themselves, but rather the trip to the dentist, that is the most painful.

A simple Harvard-MIT elevator pitch template
Problem: “[Customer Type] are often frustrated by the effort it takes to [Action].”
Solution: “[Your New Solution] eliminates the need to [Customer’s Old Solution].”
Why You: “For [Duration], [Customer Type] have trusted [Your Company] to provide the best solutions in [Customer’s Industry].”

Elevator pitch example #1: Nice and simple
